Admissions

If you are interested in sending your child to Eastway Primary School, or would like to find out more about our learning environment, please call us on 0151 677 1235 to arrange a personal tour or for more information on how to apply.

For our 2 Year Old and Nursery admissions please contact the school to check availability.

For admissions from Reception to Year 6 please see the links below. As a Wirral Local Authority School, our admissions are not managed by the school directly.

ADMISSIONS POLICY

Eastway Primary serves the Eastway community and surrounding area. The school admission number is 30 with up to 52 part-time places in Foundation 1. Class sizes are between 20 and 30.

Children are admitted to Foundation 1 the half term after their third birthday if places are available. Children are admitted to Foundation 2 at the beginning of the school year in which they will be five.

Parents are encouraged to place their child's name on the school waiting list as early as possible. All pupils must be registered with the name that appears on their birth certificate. If there are more applicants than places available, the Governing Body will operate the admissions criteria set down by the Local Authority.

We now have Eastway Early Years and offer funded places for 2 year olds. Please contact the school office for more information.

ADMISSIONS POLICY FOR LOCAL AUTHORITY SEN RESOURCE BASES

Pupils are admitted to the Local Authority SEN resource bases as a result of the statementing process operated by the Local Authority. This procedure reflects the requirements of the ‘Code of Practice’ for Special Educational Needs pupils.

The closing date for applications for primary school places in September 2018 will be 15th January 2018.
