ADMISSION TO SECONDARY SCHOOL SEPTEMBER 2024
Dear Parents/Carers of Pupils in Year 6,
Back in May you will have received information on the process of your child transferring to Secondary School next September.
We have uploaded all the information from Wirral Admissions Team below and will send an Essential Information leaflet for you today with your child.
We would like to invite you join us for an information session on Thursday 21st September at 2.30pm to explain the process and offer support for those who need it. Also for those who cannot attend the meeting, all information and PowerPoint Presentation will be on our school website along with all the relevant links. If you cannot attend the meeting due to work commitments etc, call the school office and make an appointment and I will happily support you at a time that best suits you.
You can now apply online for your child’s place on-line at www.wirral.gov.uk/schooladmissions.
The on-line system closes on 31st October 2023.
If you need any support with your application or use of a computer/ iPad to complete the process, please speak to us and this can easily be arranged. If you would prefer to complete a paper copy for, you can collect from any One Stop Shop or contact the Council’s Information and Advice line on 0151 606 2020.
The deadline date for the return of all parental preference forms is 31st October 2023.
I strongly recommend that you visit secondary schools to find out more about the options available to you in our local area. This is such an important and often worrying time for you and your child, so we will support you as best we can. Any questions at all, please let us know.

September 2023
Preference forms and information booklets on secondary education are available online or on request. The online admission system opens on 1 September for parents of Year 6 children who live in Wirral.
Autumn Term 2023
Assessments for grammar schools are expected to be carried out.
31 October 2023
Online applications and preference forms must be returned by this date.
1 March 2024
Email offers are sent to online applicants. Offers of school plaes for paper form applicants are posted second class on this date.
31 March 2024
Appeals to be submitted by this date.
May to July 2024
Appeals to be heard and decided.
September 2024
Children begin secondary school in Year 7.
