Eastway Primary School serves the Eastway community and surrounding area. ADMISSIONS FROM RECEPTION TO YEAR 6
As a Wirral local authority school, our admissions from Reception to Year 6 are not managed by the school directly. Children are admitted in to our Reception Class at the beginning of the school year in which they will be five. Applications must be completed and returned to the school admissions team at the local authority.
ADMISSIONS POLICY FOR LOCAL AUTHORITY SEN RESOURCE BASES
Pupils are admitted to the Local Authority SEN resource bases as a result of the EHCP process operated by the Local Authority. This procedure reflects the requirements of the ‘Code of Practice’ for Special Educational Needs pupils. Eastway does not manage admission to the base provision and being a mainstream pupil at Eastway does not give your child access to resource base provision. For further information on SEN resource base provision, please contact the Wallasey SENDSTART team.
APPLY FOR A TRANSFER TO A WIRRAL PRIMARY OR SECONDARY SCHOOL
Admission to Wirral schools is co-ordinated by the local authority. Schools cannot offer places directly. Parents are advised to discuss the reason for requesting a transfer with their current school prior to making an application.
To apply for a transfer between schools or from outside Wirral, we recommend that you register and apply online.
If you are not able to apply online, download and complete one of the forms below and email the completed scanned form to schooladmissions@wirral.gov.uk or return to the postal address provided. Please note that posted application forms can take more than 7 days to arrive with the Admissions team.
EARLY YEARS PROVISION
Eastway Governors manage the admissions for our Early Years provision.
We accept 30 hour funding for 3/4 Year olds and from September 2025 can accept 30 hour funding for 2 year olds (subject to parent/carer eligibility). We also offer paid for sessions and top up sessions for funded places. To apply for funding please see the links below. Please note: We cannot guarantee a place in our Early Years provision even if you have been accepted for funding. If you are allocated a place we will need to see proof of funding.
Both Explorer and Nursery sessions are from 8.45am-11.45 am for our morning children and 12.15- 15.15pm for our afternoon children. We also offer extended hours at the beginning or end of the school day. If you would like any more information about 30 hour funding please speak to the school office and or see our Admissions policy.
All pupils must be registered with the name that appears on their birth certificate. If there are more applicants than places available, the Governing Body will operate the admissions criteria set down by the Local Authority.
