ADVERSE WEATHER INFORMATION & PROCEDURES
In the event of adverse weather, an assessment will be made as to whether it is safe for the school to remain open. If it is considered safe, all pupils should access the school via the Eastway Family Centre entrance until other entrances have been sufficiently cleared.
If the decision is taken that the school has to close for the safety of its pupils and staff, the following procedure will be followed:
If it is before school has started in the morning:
- A message will be put on the website
- A text message alert or notification will be sent to all parents/carers
- Announcements will be made on local radio stations
If it is during the school day while pupils are in school:
- A message will be put on the website
- A text message alert or notification will be sent to all parents/carers
In the event that pupils are not able to collected from school before the normal end of the school day, the school will ensure that they are looked after until they can be collected at 3.15pm. After school clubs will be cancelled.
