Welcome to the Summer 1 Term. Our main topic this term is 'Bugs and nature'.

We will talk about signs of Spring and what we can see in our outdoor area. We will Look at caterpillars and observe them emerging as butterflies in order to understand the life cycle. We will plant seeds and flowers and take care of our outdoor area, showing respect and care for plants and minibeasts in our natural environment. We will be going on a visit to Birkenhead Park and will visit the areas local to school.

We will continue with our 'Home Learning' and will and to learn a Nursery Rhyme per week. We will be giving out 'Home Learning' star certificates and treats on a weekly basis.

Our 'Little Explorer's' PEEP Learning Together sessions continue to run every Tuesday from 9.00am to 10.00am in the Nursery classroom.

PEEP Learning together

The Learning Together Programme aims to help parents and carers to:

  • value and extend learning opportunities in everyday life
  • improve the quality of the Home Learning Environment
  • develop secure attachment relationships with their babies and children

The programme aims to improve children’s:

  • personal, social and emotional development
  • communication and language
  • early literacy
  • early numeracy
  • health and physical development.
Normally we would be holding PEEP Learning together sessions in school for parents and carer's to work with their children. Each week I will post some ideas from the programme to support you at home. These are play based ideas to do at home and are suitable for children 0-5 years.

Below are some PEEP activities for you to do at home with your child.
