Eastway is an inclusive, happy school where we provide a safe, loving, home from home space for our children to learn, grow and be exposed to a wide range of exciting and engaging opportunities. We pride ourselves on our relationships with each other, our families and children. We find that this helps us to ensure all children attend school every day that they can.
Poor school attendance is a National concern following the pandemic. Our children have suffered incredibly from lost learning time and social opportunities over the last few years. They must not be kept off school unnecessarily and the importance of excellent school attendance must be promoted by our families.
The Wirral #EveryDayCounts campaign is a council and partner campaign to improve school attendance in Wirral to achieve better outcomes for children and young people.
Wirral Council, along with a number of partner agencies, community organisations and schools are working together to encourage parents to do all they can to encourage regular attendance, or speak out if they need advice or support.
The benefits of regular school attendance includes:
- learning and exploring variety subjects and topics
- having experiences beyond the classroom
- access to opportunities that you may not often have access to in your community
- chance of making friends,
- gaining skills for life that create opportunities to succeed and enjoy life in adulthood
- higher chance to gain qualifications
